A missionary is someone who has a mission. Our mission is to share the good news message of the Bible with folks who need to hear it.

The Bible is not just history. It is His story. In a nutshell, here is that story:

God, who has always existed and needs no one or no thing, consists of three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God created Adam & Eve and placed them in a beautiful garden, instructing them to take care of the garden. They were allowed to eat from any tree except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Satan (a powerful angel, now turned bad) took on the form of a serpent and deceived Eve, who ate from the tree of the knowledge of good & evil. Adam ate also. In so doing, they disobeyed God; they sinned.

Adam & Eve were now separated from God, having disobeyed Him. In addition, their bodies would now eventually die and they deserved to be eternally separated from God (i.e., Hell).

Adam & Eve were guilty. They were ashamed. They hid from God. They felt naked and they made clothes out of leaves.

God, in His grace (unmerited favor) to them, sought them out. He provided clothes (animal skins) for them. For this, an animal had to die. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death. God punished Adam, Eve, and the serpent. God hinted, however, that someday he would send a deliverer.

Adam's children, his grandchildren, and all of his future descendants (this includes us) were from then on born sinners. The Bible says that all have sinned and fall short of God's perfection.

God is so Holy, so Righteous, so Perfect that no one on earth comes even close to being acceptable to him. If you add a drop of black paint to a can of white paint, it is no longer pure white paint. God is Holy and Righteous and can only fellowship with folks who are Holy and Righteous. But we are all sinners and we all sin.

Sounds desperate and hopeless, doesn't it? And it is. But God, by His grace, sent the deliverer, His Son, Jesus Christ, who was not a descendant of Adam (he was born of a virgin) and was not a sinner.

Jesus lived a perfect life and then voluntarily died on a cross. This was not an ordinary death, though, because when He died, he died as a substitute for you and me (and the rest of the world). We were guilty, we were convicted, but He paid the punishment (remember, the wages of sin is death - not just regular death, but eternal death.). The eternal Son of God died in our place, paying the punishment for our sin. Why? Not because we are good or lovely, but because He loved us so (see John 3:16 in the Bible).

As proof of God accepting this payment, God raised Christ from the dead! Now, forgiveness of sins is available to the world as a free gift! This gift is accepted by faith, by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior.

This is not a religion, because religions are man's attempt to work their way back to God. Christianity is God providing men with forgiveness, not based on their good works, but as a free gift to all who believe. This is good news for sinners, like you and me, who know that we have sinned and need a savior.
